A body that’s in tip-top shape is one that keeps the blood flowing, keeping the body temp well-regulated you can help with that circulation. And what better way to do that than by sipping on some herbal tea? It’s like a warm hug for your insides! 🍵

You can have fun with it and experiment a bit.  I will list some suggestions but try it out for yourself!

A very warming and nourishing concoction is Orange and Ginger Green Tea.

It is very simple.  Just take the peel off of an orange and steep it in freshly boiled water.  Then slice up 3-5 chunks of ginger and add it to the boiled water.  Let this steep for 10-15 minutes.  Then strain the ginger and orange peel and add your favorite green tea bag.  Let it steep for an additional five minutes or so.  If it cools considerably during the steeping process, you can always re-heat it.  There you have it a very warming, immune fortifying tea.  Not to mention it is delicious!

Another great recipe is fresh Lemon Ginger Tea.

This is another very simple recipe but always calls for fresh ingredients.  Again, bring a desired amount of water to a boil and let sit for a minute away from the heat.  Then simply add the zest of one lemon.  You can also peel the lemon and use the peel itself.  After that chop up 4-6 chunks of ginger and add to the boiled water.  Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and drink.  Delicious and very good to keep your immune system strong!

Sage & Lemon Lime Tea

With this one you take a sage leaf, place it in cool water and bring to a boil. Place two slices of lemon and one slice of lime in the water at the end. Let cool, remove sage and fruit slices. Once it is a good temperature enjoy!

With all of these recipes it is a matter of playing with it. Some people like there tea stronger than others so to change the strength you can adjust the water/ peel/ginger/green tea ratio to your desired taste. Or whatever you choose to use.

It is fun to play with!  Add fresh turmeric root if you can find it.  Dried berries work a treat, such as blueberries, goji berries, or raspberries. There are many ways you can experiment with it.  The key is to stay nourished, warm and hydrated during the cold dog days of winter.  This will greatly aid in keeping you healthy and happy!!!

Enjoy!
